What changed
Two new ways to play a golf day: Multiplier Match and Mystery Format, plus a clean-up of how you pick a format in the first place.
Multiplier Match
Each four-ball splits into two pairs who play each other. On every hole a pair's score is its two partners' Stableford points multiplied, not added. 3 and 4 is 12, but 3 and 0 is nothing at all.
It keeps both partners in the hole. There's no hiding behind your partner's good score, and no writing a hole off because they've already made par.
You tap the two players who are partners; the other two become the pair they're up against. A three-ball works too, with one player partnering both of the others so nobody sits out. A hole only counts once both partners have posted it, so a partner still out on the course never looks like a wipeout.
Picked as the Game Type it runs the whole day, with each pair's points adding to its team's total. Added mid-round from the leaderboard "+" button, it's just that four-ball's contest.
Mystery Format
You write the rules for all 18 holes before anyone tees off, and nobody else sees them until you say so. Each hole names whose scores count and how they combine: best of two named players, all four added, one player alone, two multiplied so a blob wipes the hole, or nobody at all.
Player 1 to 4 are positions taken from the tee order, not people, so one sheet covers the whole field. Players post scores as normal and watch the standings all day; the reasoning stays hidden until you tap Reveal, or the round ends.
Fourball Alliance now counts two scores
Fourball Alliance was scoring as a four-man best ball. Only the single best score on each hole counted, which flatters the low handicapper and makes the other three players nearly irrelevant. It now counts the best two of the four, which is what an alliance is.
It also needs no setup any more: publish the tee sheet and every four-ball scores as one, instead of building teams by hand that just duplicate the groups already on it. The same applies to Best Ball, Scramble and Foursomes.
Picking a format is clearer
The Game Type list is grouped by what you need in place before a format will score anything: nothing, a published tee sheet, or teams. A team format chosen with no teams used to leave you on an empty board, usually after the round had started.
Stableford is now the default. It's what social golf days actually play, and it's what Multiplier Match, Mystery Format and Scramble all count from.
The separate "Scoring Method" toggle is gone. It asked the same question twice and let the answers disagree (you could save Stroke Play scored as Stableford), so the Game Type decides it now.
Also fixed
- Team leaderboards (Best Ball, Fourball Alliance, Scramble, Foursomes) showed no scores at all on their default Net view. They now score correctly.
- Picking Multiplier Match or Mystery Format as the Game Type opened a board with no way to set it up. Both now take you straight to their own setup.
- A tournament created as a team format opens on that format's board instead of the individual leaderboard.
